Meet Rebecca, or simply Beck — our lovely receptionist. We took the opportunity to sit down with Beck to learn about his interests outside of the office.
If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That is such a tough question as I am a huge Movie Buff…but if I had to pick just one, it would be A Star Is Born, the 1976 version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. I just love the 70s music and fashion.
Who is your inspiration?
Definitely my mum. She worked so hard her whole life and raised my sisters and I by herself with very little outside help. She is so inspirational as she never gave up, even when times were tough. She taught us to appreciate the little things in life and to always find the funny side.
What song never fails to make you sing your heart out in the car?
Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. Paws up!
What is your favourite part of your job?
I really enjoy planning and organising our staff functions and events and coming up with new ideas for our themed morning teas. 😊
Who is your favourite author/book?
Margaret Atwood, I particularly love The Handmaid’s Tale & The Testaments.
What did you want to be when you were 6?
Either a Florist or a Pig Farmer. As for the later, thank goodness we grow up, right?!
What’s been your best memory at HK?
Team Long Lunches are always heaps of fun and we always get very spoilt.
Freaky Friday: If you could switch bodies for a week with anyone in the world, who would it be?
As a huge animal lover, I would pick David Attenborough as I’m pretty sure he would give me access to see any and all the animals he wanted to in a single week.
Do you have a hidden talent?
I can play the clarinet.
